2. What is Reverse Osmosis?
Reverse osmosis is a water purification process that uses pressure to force water through a semipermeable membrane, removing dissolved salts, bacteria, minerals, and other impurities to produce clean, better-tasting drinking water.
3. How Does Reverse Osmosis Work?
Reverse osmosis works by passing tap water through several filtration stages. Pre-filters first remove larger contaminants such as sediment, rust, and chlorine. The water is then pushed under pressure through a semipermeable membrane that blocks dissolved salts, heavy metals, and most microorganisms. In systems with a built-in storage tank, the purified water is stored and kept ready for instant use, while the concentrated impurities are flushed away as wastewater.
